A light, humourous story. I love how something simple (a tourist ad campaign for a small town in Wales) swiftly snowballs into something much more outlandish involving saints, rare birds, and (let's-not-forget) dynamite.
Most towns have histories but how many have their own Saint? But this particular town in Wales has a problem with their Saint a probllem which some people don't want to get out. A lot of hijinks ensue when the town leaders want to promote their most famous personage while others work to prevent becoming a laughing stock. Just what is under St. Owain's Rock? Read it to find out. You won't be disappointed going along for the ride. Another great book by Josh Langston and Barbara Geller Smith.
Under Saint Owain's Rock by Josh Langston and BJ Galler-Smith is a delightful Irish tale of history, romance and intrigue. The first few pages grab right on and lead you down the path. Tough to put down. I feel like I know these characters in real life; the rude, selfish business woman who will step on anyone in her way to get what she wants, the polite gentleman of persusaion, and the lost soul of a woman who is struggling to find out where she fits in the world. The supporting cast with their agendas play out in realistic ways too. This was my first read from these authors but I'm searching for the next choice already.
Bill Thomas is rather partial to his job as an ad exec, but he hates his new boss. Lucky for him, the feeling is mutual. He's got one chance to prove he's good at what he does - go to Wales and PR a small, rural village looking to increase its tourist trade by cashing in on the notoriety of its single claim to fame, St. Owain.
What follows is a delightful romp through a small, Welsh town, packed with unique and memorable characters, a bit of history, and a scandal that could undo everything. Under St. Owain's Rock is a humorous, lighthearted romance sure to make you smile and, in some cases, laugh out loud. On the back cover of this little gem, we read "...lighthearted contemporary romance...". Present day North Wales is the setting for FOUR triumphant romances, despite the nefarious meddlings of a hateful villain. Early on we see our native heroine and an Atlanta ad executive share kisses in a Welsh hot spring. Our couple will triumph despite the local town's ensuing brouhaha over an ancient rock shaped as an anatomically-correct male organ. Yes, you read that right.
The controversy over Saint Owain's rock goes global via BBC footage on CNN, and the race for justice is on. Keep track of the characters - I counted 20 - or you'll miss the humorous subtleties in this rollicking story. And make sure you've got the players matched correctly with their classic vehicles Mercedes, Jaguar, Austin Healey, Peugeot, on down to the protagonist's hesitant 1966 Mini Cooper. (Well, you don't really have to do that...)
From the Rastafarian accountant, Samuel Goldfarb (and his iguana, Winston) to the hapless bird-lover Clive Gillet (and his rat-faced wren); from Llansantowain to Atlanta, it's a wild ride. Like I said pay attention, hold on and have fun.

Believable story with fully developed characters and realistic language. It is not a typical romance, but it is romantic. Such a good book! Josh Langston, B.J. Galler-Smith does it again! Love their writing style; could hardly pull myself away from the pages!
Even though this was the first book I've read by Josh Langston, B.J. Galler-Smith, I'll admit this was the most captivating, intriguing, and thrilling one thus far. Anyone after reading this book can learn a few lessons on life's trials and tribulations, successes and defeats and most importantly the ability and determination to come out on top even when all else fails.
When I first saw this book I didn't know at all what it was about and I sat down at once to read it. And I read it from the first side to the last the first time!! I loved the book so much. Josh Langston, B.J. Galler-Smith, are the best authors of all times if I say so myself. This is a wonderful, moving story. Truly one of their most outstanding books!
