This book should be labeled "Surf Techniques For Beginners" (only) It is described as for beginners and intermediates. Granted, it is a good book for someone who has never surfed before, but to include intermediates is wrong in my opinion. I would have given it only one star but I am sure this book might be appreciated by those who have never surfed before. I just wanted to be one to let anyone out there know that in my opinion this book contains only very basic surfing information. I as very disappointed. It is also a very thin book with the very limited information stretched out to be able to even call it a book. For the price, I was expecting much more information....Product details

one word...Easy...the technique is just so easy...you can get up and feel great the first day...Frank is awesome...
Great little tid bits in this gem of a book. The slide-up technique helped me greatly and was able to progress faster with a smoother style. Great general knowledge and reference book for surfers of all levels especially beginners. 🤙🤙🤙🌊🌊🌊🏄♂️🏄♂️🏄♂️
I read this on Unlimited. It was a quick read and had decent basic information. That said, learning to surf is pretty complex. It is very hard to learn to surf from reading a book. The words just don't translate to the actual technique. Much better is to watch videos on the various aspects of surfing. Ultimately you need to get in the water and practice A LOT, ideally with a few lessons thrown in.
Frank's book provides a great primer on the fundamentals of surfing. His method has taken me from barely being able to surf in whitewater to having the confidence to surf in a wide variety of conditions, and most importantly for me, to have fun surfing!
I love this book! Great reading while lounging at the beach or at home to brush up on some practice drills. You can really tell he knows his surfing stuff!
This is a life saver surf instruction. The technic slide up proposed by the author works. It’s a popup that anyone can learn. The book is well written and easily understood. I recommend to beginners and intermediate surfers
I got this surf lesson guide from because my daughter is starting surf lessons in Del Mar, but why are you charging $17 for what is essentially a glorified pamphlet? I still love it though. I am not putting these comments to be mean, but people should know that they are getting very expensive pamphlet, not a book. But, honestly, I have surfed pretty much all over the entire world, and this is a very well done s I am not putting these comments to be mean, but people should know that they’re getting very expensive pamphlet, not a book. But honestly, I have surfed all over California, Baja, and Hawaii and I rate this as an excellent lesson guide (pamphlet).
